Building the Bond
is a charity donation program created by Juno's Garden. The project, directed at first-time adopters, donates Adoption Kits to Rescue organizations and other qualified groups. The kits include products and information designed to help new pet owners become better guardians. Click here for a press release on this program!

Building the Bond

Our pets deserve to live a long and happy life and YOU are the key! Juno's Garden believes the following three categories are the secret to building lasting bonds with your new pet.

Companionship & Touch

The companionship of a pet provides a life-long fulfilling relationship and bond. That connection can be enhanced through dedicated touch, petting and massage. Massage builds trust, aids in the circulation and releases muscle tension. Practice daily massage - gently and slowly, in a comfortable environment, avoiding areas of pain or discomfort. Slow fingertip strokes, light kneading or gentle skin lifting are good techniques to start. As you become more comfortable, you will find out which techniques you both prefer!

Training & Exercise

Most behavioral problems in pets stem from a lack of training, exercise, and boredom. Puppies in particular need to learn how to communicate with others to be good canine citizens - they need puppy classes that offer socialization AND obedience training. All animals are better pets if they have positive outlets for their normal, natural tendencies, such as running, barking, digging, and chewing. and clawing. From Kong toys and other educational toys for dogs, to scratching posts and toys for cats - find out what your pet enjoys and be sure to provide lots of toys, exercise and don't forget they need plenty of quality time with their human!

Food & Nutrition

Like ourselves, our pets need a well-balanced, wholesome diet. Good food and nutrition contributes to the health and long-life of your pet. A natural diet includes human grade meat, vegetables, fruits, grains and oils. Whether you choose a raw diet or high-quality kibble, educate yourself on the ingredients in the food, where they come from and how they contribute to your pet's nutrition.
